When Register 2 decided to go dark, showing only a black screen with a mysterious 'x', our expert technician arrived to perform a digital resurrection! A quick power cycle brought the sales screen back to life, but the touchscreen and keyboard were playing hide-and-seek. After a bit of sleuthing, our tech discovered a mischievous key on the keyboard had gotten itself stuck in the 'pressed' position. Once that little rascal was freed, the keyboard sprang back to attention. While the touchscreen was shy on the sales screen, it was performing perfectly in diagnostic mode – a classic case of needing a software tune-up! The system was running on 3.12.50, with a newer version (3.12.55) available, but a full site upgrade and new C18s were recommended for seamless compatibility.
